Giving

Sunday, November 28, 2010

This is the time of the year where many would think about giving even as we go about preparing for the festive season. I too am in this frame of mind. So, #1 on my bucket list is to Start a Charitable Organization. I have always been passionate about doing service, and have taken every opportunity to participate in charitable events. No matter how busy my schedule is, I try my best to make time to help for I truly believe lending a helping hand is a most fulfilling feeling. It doesn’t matter whether the service is a big contribution or simply a small gesture to help a fellow human being, it is taking the action that matters. Now, it may not be anytime soon, but one day, if I can create my own organization helping people out there, whether it ends up being global, or nation-wide, or even just within my city, as long as I make a difference, I’ll be happy. Strange, isn’t it – how helping others can make one feel so good? I will leave you to ponder on the following quote:

“I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.” -- Étienne de Grellet du Mabillier
